meet the staff

Jentri Crawford 

Jentri Crawford is the owner and studio director of The Hive Dance Company and loves everything about dance. She has trained in all styles of dance. She loves the kids more than anything. She trained in gymnastics since the age of 2 years old but then quit at 12 to follow her passion of dance! She teaches many classes and adores every minute of it. She started The Hive six years ago and hopes to continue it for a long time! She is still currently training hard and professionally with Moments of Grace and MDCSLC. She loves to share her passion for dance through performance. She is thankful for her opportunity to teach and hopes to inspire kids to have a special place for dance in their hearts!!  

​Whitney walker

Whitney Walker is an advocate for the arts and loves to express creativity through dance and movement. She has 3 children of her own and finds fulfillment in empowering kids! Whitney loves seeing kids develop their own passion and find joy in working towards a skill. Her goal as an instructor is to help them grow both on and off the dance floor. She has experience dancing and cheering competitively as well as teaching both children and adults. She has her 200 HR YTT and currently teaches yoga and hosts Women’s Yoga Circles in addition to dance instruction. Whitney looks forward to teaching your child and giving them space to see their potential here at The Hive. ​

SHanna Hurst

Shanna Hurst brings with her over 10 years of dance experience. She started dancing at a young age and loves anything and everything dance. She's married and has two girls who also love it as much as she does. She loves teaching pre ballet basics and creative movement through a variety of music. She is excited to be joining The Hive. 

Kayla Bounous

Kayla has been dancing and performing since the young age of 3. She grew up in Orem UT studying ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, and tumbling. Kayla has performed and danced on stages all across Utah, including Hale Center Theater Orem, Hale Centre Theatre (Sandy), and Tuachan. Throughout her years as a performer, Kayla developed a great love of teaching. She has always had a passion for sharing her knowledge and has taught dance and choreographed for over 10 years in Utah and Salt Lake Counties. Kayla strives to help her students discover a love for movement and dance and feel confident in their own abilities.

Miranda Squire

Miranda Fife grew up dancing in Colorado Springs, Colorado! She danced competing jazz and tap before she found her true passion of ballet. She then competed ballet for 3 years at the national competition of Youth American Grand Prix.
Miranda has studied at Utah Valley University and now at Brigham Young University earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. She has performed with Repertory Ballet Ensemble, Utah Metropolitan Ballet, Ballet Showcase Company (as well
As choreographed for) and Theatre Ballet.
She has also studied with Ballet Arizona, Jacqueline School of Ballet, and Ballet West at rigorous summer intensives.
Miranda has a passion for teaching ballet. She has been teaching for 5 years now at various studios and is excited to begin at the hive dance co.
